A few days ago, the BMW M Sports Division showed the XM concept, a stand-alone model with a design you just can’t help but think about. And some of its elements will soon appear in series production.

The Munich carmaker has already confirmed the concept large SUV with a sporty character it is not just a design and technical exercise of the “em” industry, but its serial production is really about to take place. The finished car will be introduced to the world at the end of next year and attracts, for example, a plug-in hybrid drive combining an eight-cylinder fork with an electric motor. The system power should reach 550 kW (750 hp) and the torque of a thousand newton meters.

Let’s put the technology aside today and focus on the design of the concept, which has caused a huge stir across social networks (as has been the case with BMW lately). The large square SUV does not lack distinctive lighting technology, which has no analogues on the brand’s cars yet. At the front, we notice small “diamond” headlights, which, however, complement the distinctive glowing kidneys.

And according to recent information, this element will also go to series production. What’s more, the kidneys are supposed to shine on a number of other models! In an interview with Driving magazine, BMW M boss Frank Van Meel confirmed this, according to which it will be a new design element not only for “emka” cars.

Shortly after this interview, she escaped from the Chinese patent offices appearance of the electric BMW 3 Series (which will quite possibly see the designation i3) and wonder of the world, we can see a glowing kidney frame in the photo! Jokers on the Internet even predict that large glowing kidneys will not supplement the headlights, but will eventually replace them. Well, let’s be surprised!
