Gibson replicates two Elvis Presley guitars

On the occasion of the release of the biopic Elvisthe famous guitar brand brings out two emblematic models of King guitars.

Elvis Presley was a huge Gibson fan and enjoyed using these guitars for his gigs. Two models are therefore reproduced today: the Gibson Elvis Dove electroacoustic guitar, which is inspired by a 1969 model on which Elvis played during his concerts from 1971 to 1975. It had been offered to him by his father, Vernon, then given to a fan present at an Elvis concert in North Carolina two years before his death. We let you discover all the technical details of this instrument here.

The second model is an electroacoustic Gibson Elvis SJ-200. This guitar is more recognizable because the King used several models of it during his career. This one had been offered to him in the mid-60s in Nashville, while he was recording at RCA Studios.

Elvis Presley played with it for over 10 years then gave it to a friend, Marty Lacker, at Graceland in 1976. Full details here.
