Geuzenveld residents hope for less parking pressure now that payment has to be made

Residents of Geuzenveld, part of Slotermeer and Eendracht hope that the introduction of paid parking and permits will create more space to park their cars. For some, however, the times could have been extended.

As of today, motorists must pay 1.40 euros per hour or have a parking permit in these parts of the city in order to park there. Until today it was still free. A parking permit for residents costs about 32 euros per year. A maximum of two parking permits are issued per address. A good measure, thinks one of them. “I think it’s a very good measure. Because if I come home late at night, I have to drive around for half an hour before I can park my car.”

“On the one hand, I think it’s good, because then we’ll lose the vans,” says another. “On the other hand, it’s taking money out of people’s wallets again.” He would have liked the times for paid parking to be even longer. “They could have done much better from 9:00 to 21:00, because then there is a chance that the vans will stay away.”

Paid parking applies from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
