Anyone who thought that the marriage of Gert Verhulst (52) and Ellen Callebaut (43) was preceded by a romantic proposal, is wrong. Verhulst has admitted this in the Dutch program Rooijakkers on the floor.

“Why are we actually married”, Verhulst wonders in the program with a smile. “Because you wanted to,” was Ellen’s clear answer. But it actually didn’t work out that way, Verhulst admits afterwards.
“I was really fed up when it happened. And actually it was completely misinterpreted. What I said was: If we were to get married … I was completely surprised. I didn’t mean to do it at the time. ”
After eleven years in a relationship, the Studio 100 boss and his Ellen got married last year.
