Germany will introduce partial border controls with Poland and the Czech Republic this week to protect itself from an influx of migrants.

This was stated by German Interior Minister Nancy Feser, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Reuters.

She noted that the activities will be introduced jointly with Poland and the Czech Republic.

Scandal between Poland and Germany over migrants

Recently, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz threatened Poland with the introduction of border controls if the influx of migrants continues. He called on the Polish government to investigate the reports about thousands of illegally issued work visas that bring migrants to Germany.

The European Union is also looking into reports that migrants entered Poland on illegally issued work visas for which officials allegedly received bribes.

At the same time, Poland and the Baltic countries have pledged to close their borders with Belarus if a “critical incident” occurs.
