From 1st to 2nd October 2022 German Youth Championships and Bundesliga finals in the Untermainhalle Elsenfeld
Elsenfeld. When the “SV UnsuKarate Mömlingen” karate club was founded by Mohammed Abu Wahib in 2012, no one expected that a German championship would be held after 10 years of the club.
The dojo, which now has nearly 120 members, is already known nationally thanks to the state coach of the BKB Momo and their great successes and the many German championship titles of their proteges. Now the Bavarian club would like to take a new big step in history with this orientation: the implementation of the German youth, youth, U21 championship and the Bundesliga final in 2022. This is also the first German junior championship in the history of the BKB alongside Coburg (DM of the performance class) will take place on Bavarian soil.
About 60 helpers are available to Momo and Fabienne Abu Wahib’s team, including many parents and friendly associations who have pledged active support.
“We had already thought about hosting a German championship 2-3 years ago, but then Corona arrived. After the DKV contacted us with the request for the German Youth, Junior and U21 Championships, we accepted directly and we are happy that the young of the BKB can finally compete on Bavarian soil, “says Fabienne Abu Wahib.
The SV Unsu athletes are also proud to be able to demonstrate their skills in front of the home crowd. Among them is the girls’ junior kata team, Munib Abozar (Kata Juniors), Jonas Abu Wahib (Kata Youth), Anna Braun (Kata Juniors), Christina Braun (Kata Youth), Ridwan Islam (U21 Kumite -67kg) and AnnaStessel (kata junior).
Jonas Abu Wahib in particular is the big favorite here. He was recently named by national team manager Efthimios Karamitsos for the World Cup in late October. Thanks to last year’s bronze medal, Annastassel is also a direct medal hunter.
