A German mountaineer has had a fatal accident in Switzerland. A helicopter pilot discovered the lifeless body of the young man on a sightseeing flight. The emergency doctor could no longer help him.
A 21 year old climber from Germany died on the 4,063 meter high Obergabelhorn in Valais in Switzerland. The German fell several hundred meters into the depth on Sunday ascending the north face, the police reported on Monday.
The young man was traveling alone. The crashed mountaineer was discovered by a helicopter pilot on the Obergabelhorn glacier during a sightseeing flight. An Air-Zermatt rescue crew with an emergency doctor moved out. The doctor could only determine the climber’s death.
