German Federal Interior Minister Nancy Feser, amid reports of the arrest of suspects in plotting terrorist attacks on churches in Europe, stressed that terrorists will not limit the way of life of Europeans.
Feser provided her commentary by the publication of the Funke media group; it is quoted by DPAreports “European Truth”.
According to the head of the German Interior Ministry, the reaction to a possible Islamist attack plan on the Cologne cathedral shows how seriously the security authorities take such risks.
“We all love our Christmas traditions and will not allow ourselves to be intimidated or limited in our way of life. But at the same time, we take the Islamist terrorist threat very seriously and are extremely vigilant,” Feser said.
She stressed that the federal and state governments use all law enforcement and intelligence resources to prevent dangers and respond to every suspicious report.

The day before it became known that several people were arrested in Austria for suspected of preparing terrorist attacks in churches in Cologne, Vienna and Madrid during Christmas services, which are likely to be backed by an Islamist group.

Feser said earlier this week that fears a repeat of New Year’s riots and attacks on emergency services in Berlin and other cities.
And the Federal Office for the Protection of the German Constitution, which plays the role of an intelligence agency, indicated a significant growing threat of Islamist terrorist attacks in the country against the background of the war between Israel and the Hamas group in the Middle East.
