German competition watchdog examines Amazon pricing policy during corona crisis – IT Pro – News

We live in Germany and were a lot of users amazon (super handy if you live a bit outside, often ordered in the evening, and delivered the next afternoon for a decent price).
But almost immediately with the COVID, they changed a few crucial things.
The score per product (which was normally really good, except if it came from china and the producers provide free things in exchange for good reviews) no longer makes any sense, or at least it can no longer be traced back to the scores that are given that you can see.
Sorting by score does not provide the sorting you would expect.
And the worst thing, if you don’t use Amazon warehousing, your price will no longer be visible in the overview.
If you don’t see the price, then you are not going to click on it.
That is the purest form of extortion.
So I’m curious what will come out of this.

I don’t know if your average Dutch person realizes how large the share of amazon online purchases is in DE.
Can be compared with marketplace and alternative second-hand platforms.
The average household buys things at the store or on amazon.

In addition, the load of fraudulent offers has increased exponentially.
I wonder if they can hold on to their market share like this. I myself now search for the seller’s website and buy it there.
