General SK Drymanov received 12 years in prison for a bribe

The Moscow City Court sentenced the former head of the capital’s headquarters of the UK General Alexander Drymanov to 12 years in a maximum security penal colony in a criminal case involving two bribes. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Drymanov is 12 years in a maximum security penal colony with a fine of 196 million rubles, with deprivation of the right to occupy posts in state authorities for seven years with deprivation of the rank of general and medal for services to the Fatherland of the second degree,” the judge ruled.

The former head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC in Moscow, Alexander Drymanov, was arrested in July 2018. The court found that Drymanov, together with ex-deputy Denis Nikandrov and ex-head of the Investigative Department of the RF IC in the Central Administrative District, Aleksey Kramarenko, was a member of an organized criminal group headed by its former head of the security department of the IC, Mikhail Maksimenko.

According to the investigation, thief in law Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy) turned to the security forces for help, and he tried to mitigate the charges against his friend and comrade-in-arms Andrei Kochuykov (Italian). Moreover, he sought to free him from arrest.

According to Nikandrov’s testimony, the first bribe of € 500 thousand was for Maksimenko and his deputy Alexander Lamonov. After that, Maksimenko, Nikandrov, Kramarenko, and Drymanov received $ 1 million. According to the investigation, Drymanov got a fifth of this amount – $ 200 thousand.

The businessman Dmitry Smychkovsky became an intermediary in the transfer of a bribe – he was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list.

The second episode in the case of General Drymanov was that he received money from Nikandrov in the amount of € 9850 for patronage.

As part of the criminal investigation, Drymanova, Kramarenko and Maksimenko were charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. The first was also accused of receiving another large bribe. All the defendants in the criminal case denied receiving the money to the last.

During the first meeting of the Moscow City Court, Drymanov said the criminal case on bribery against high-ranking security officials was due to the fact that FSB investigators wanted to discredit the head committee of the Sledkom, as well as its chairman. The general explained that the episodes imputed to him contradict each other and are not supported by evidence in the case.

Drymanov said in court that the former deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow, ex-general Denis Nikandrov, took out of the office of the head of the department not a bribe, but a bottle of cognac.

According to him, in April 2015, a working meeting was held in his office at which Nikandrov was appointed to the post of deputy chief. Drymanov said that he and his colleagues noted the appointment at the workplace, and Nikandrov asked to give him a bottle of cognac. “I put it in a sports bag so that he (Nikandrov) would not carry it in his hands,” the ex-security official noted.

He also emphasized that in the morning he often worked out in the gym, and when he arrived at work, he carried the bag to his office. According to the indictment, in a sports bag Nikandrov took out a bribe of $ 200 thousand received from Drymanov from the SK building.

Ex-head of the Moscow Investigation Department of the Central Administrative District of Moscow for the Central Administrative District, Aleksey Kramarenko, during interrogation in court, said that Nikandrov attempted suicide allegedly because of pressure from the investigation, who sought to testify against him, his chief, General Drymanov.

After several court hearings, the state prosecution requested the general to be sentenced to 16 years in a maximum security colony. In addition, the prosecutor’s office asked the Moscow City Court to sentence Colonel Kramarenko to 15 years in a maximum security penal colony, and the third accused, Mikhail Maksimenko, to 17 years in a maximum security penal colony, taking into account a sentence already passed on him in another case. In addition, Maksimenko was offered a fine of 250 million rubles, Kramarenko – 195 million.

The case against Nikandrov was set aside in a separate proceeding. In August 2018, the Moscow City Court sentenced Nikandrov to 5 years and 6 months in prison, but in June 2019 he was released ahead of schedule. Maksimenko was sentenced to 13 years in a maximum security penal colony and fined 165 million rubles; Lamonov received five years in prison.
