“Gatot Nurmantyo is also one of the names recommended by Prabowo to become a minister, if (Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno) wins the presidential election yesterday, after his bid to become a presidential candidate failed miserably,” Ari told jpnn.com.
According to a lecturer at the University of Indonesia, he assessed that from this track record, it was natural that there was an opinion that Gatot would also declare WE, as a warm-up event to try his luck in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
“But I think Gatot’s chances of advancing in the upcoming presidential election through the existing political parties are quite small. Because each political party seems to have its own champion,” he said.
The supervisor of the doctoral program at the Padjajaran University graduate school gave an example of the Democratic Party, which is predicted to propose the name of the General Chairman of the Democratic Party’s DPP Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
“Then the PDI Perjuangan, I think it will promote its most potential cadres, as well as Golkar,” he said.
