The transfer from Gaetan Coucke to KV Mechelen is about to be completed.
Yesterday you read HERE with us that an agreement had been reached between the two clubs and now the transfer would be in the final phase. Coucke was spotted this morning at the AZ Sint Maarten hospital in Mechelen, where he would take his medical tests.
After weeks of negotiations, both clubs reached an agreement yesterday. Coucke was allowed to leave Racing Genk, which fully relies on Maarten Vandevoordt.
Due to the long injury of Danny Vukovic, Gaëtan Coucke was unexpectedly bombed to first goalkeeper this season. The young goalkeeper did well, but the team found it difficult to get in shape. Eventually, Coucke started to perform less well, with the result that 17-year-old Vandevoordt surpassed him in the hierarchy.
At KV Mechelen, Coucke has to compete with Yannick Thoelen. In Mechelen they see Coucke becoming the first goalkeeper in the long term.
