A home in Sigrid Undsets gate in Stavanger is fully engulfed in flames on Thursday afternoon. It is unknown if there are people in the home.
– It is a densely built-up area, and we are working to get an overview of whether there are people in the house, Sørvest police district writes on Twitter at 12.30.
– There is a full over-ignition and risk of spread, they write further.
The fire service, which was alerted to the fire at 12.15, has moved out. The fire is not under control.
The supervisor in 110 Sør-Vest informs VG that it is probably a detached house.
The police warn that there is a risk of spreading at the site, and they say that the nearest buildings will probably have to be evacuated. Furthermore, they encourage neighbors to close windows and valves and say they should close ventilation systems.
A lot of smoke has been reported at the site.
