The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the Moskva, lies just 50 miles from the Ukrainian coast, and scientists are already planning an expedition to the sunken pride of the Russian fleet, according to TSN.
Sergei Voronov is the director of the Central Naval Museum of Ukraine, and since April 15, it is his department that has owned the Moskva missile cruiser. The scientist asks to name the drowned man correctly – an object of underwater cultural heritage under No. 2064, this is how the sunken Russian pride is recorded in the register. Voronov notes that according to all laws, “Moscow”, as before, now belongs to Ukraine.
“These are exclusively economic waters of Ukraine, and according to the international UNECO convention of 2006, which Ukraine has ratified, all traces of human activity on the bottom of the Black Sea are the property of the state of Ukraine,” Sergei Voronov notes.
For more than a decade he has been looking for sunken ships in the Black Sea, he has raised antique amphoras, machine guns of the First World War, the remains of ships of the Second World War from the seabed, and now here is the largest and most expensive ship that lies on the Black Sea bottom – and it’s nice that his drowned by the Ukrainian military during the Russian war of conquest against Ukraine.
“There are still unconfirmed tales that are stored there a particle of the Cross of the Lord, which was presented by Sergei Stepashin, the former Prime Minister of Russia, a few millimeters in size and cost $ 40 million, and was supposed to protect this cruiser,” says the scientist.
But scientists are unlikely to try to pick up something from “Moscow”. There are a lot of explosives on board, it remains to be seen whether there are nuclear warheads there, there is a big problem with hundreds of tons of diesel fuel on board.
Ukrainian specialists are already preparing submersibles for humanitarian demining. It is planned to involve German and American scientists to inspect the cruiser. Fortunately, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet sank not deep, about 50 meters there. Considering that the cruiser itself was 40 meters high, such a depth will allow even novice divers to see the deck of the Moskva, on which Putin so loved to drive foreign distinguished guests.
But with regard to the part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified, which was allegedly kept in “Moscow”, the scientists even held a scientific council. On it, our specialists made an unambiguous decision that God is on our side and this particle did not help the cruiser.
