From 1 August this year, the price of natural gas for Elektrum customers will be reduced by 10 to 30% depending on the type of product chosen, by concluding a new or extending the existing agreement from 1 July, informs Ivita Bidere, Press Secretary of Latvenergo AS.

For customers who have chosen the product “Elektrum natural gas for kitchen”, the price of natural gas will decrease by 10%. In turn, for the products “Elektrum natural gas for heat” and “Elektrum natural gas for heat +”, the price of natural gas will decrease by 30%, which is 4.3% less than the regulated gas price available in the country.
The change in the invoice concerns one component – natural gas. The total invoice also includes the transmission and distribution tariff and excise duty. Consequently, the reduction of the total bill for the customer will be about half of the reduction percentage, I. Bidere explains.

In Latvia, about 400,000 households choose natural gas for kitchen use, but about 50,000 households choose it as a type of heating, ie with higher daily consumption. If we compare the structure of consumers, then the proportion of heating customers among Elektrum’s customers is higher than in the Latvian natural gas market as a whole.
