Madrid, Jul 6 (EFE) .- The final results of the seroprevalence macro-study have confirmed the great geographic variability of antibodies to the coronavirus, and while Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha double or almost double the national rate, which is 5.2 %, Balearic Islands, Murcia, Asturias and Galicia do not reach 2%.
As happened in the two previous waves, the third round of the National Study of Sero-Epidemiology of Infection by Sars-Cov-2 in Spain ENE-COVID made public this morning confirms the highest concentration of contact with the virus in the center peninsular.
Madrid is the community with the highest seroprevalence percentage, 11.7%, followed by Castilla-La Mancha with 9.6%; Castilla y León, with 7.8%, and Navarra (6.6%); on the contrary, they do not reach 2% in the Balearic Islands (1.4%); Murcia (1.6%); Asturias (1.9), and Galicia (1.9%).
By provinces, there are five that exceed 10%. Furthermore, from Madrid, Soria once again leads this list with 14.4%, ahead of Segovia (12.4%); Cuenca (11.4%) and Albacete (10.8%).
While the population that has antibodies against the coronavirus is less than 3% in twenty other provinces: -A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra, Asturias, Guipúzcoa, Lleida, Girona, Tarragona, Castellón, Valencia, Balearic Islands, Badajoz, Huelva, Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba, Murcia, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas.
And in another 12 it does not reach 5% -Cantabria, Vizcaya, Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, La Rioja, Cáceres, Alicante, Jaén, Málaga, Granada and Almería-
The final results by communities, extracted from rapid tests and not from immunoassays, are the following:
ANDALUSIA
The community-wide rate is 3%. Half of its provinces have prevalences below 3%: the lowest is Huelva (1.3%), followed by Cádiz (2.6%), Seville and Córdoba, both with 2.7%.
In Jaén it rises to 4.4%; Malaga (3.6%) Granada (3.5%) and Almería (3.4%).
ASTURIAS
One of the communities with the lowest prevalence (1.9%)
ARAGON
In this community, where the percentage of citizens who have been infected is 4.8%, all its provinces are almost at the average or below: Huesca (5%), Teruel (4.9%) and Zaragoza (4, 7%).
BALEARES
It presents the lowest rate of all, 1.4%.
CANARY ISLANDS
With 2.3% of the population with antibodies, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria it drops to 2.2% and in Santa Cruz de Tenerife it rises to 2.4%.
CANTABRIA
Here the percentage is 3.7%.
CASTILLA LA MANCHA
It is the second community with the highest seroprevalence (9.6%), a figure that is exceeded in Cuenca (11.4%) and Albacete (10.8%), while in Toledo it has been 8.6%; 9.1% in Ciudad Real and 9.8% in Guadalajara.
CASTILLA AND LEÓN
The rate in this community is 7.8%, which exceeds Soria with 14.4%; Segovia (12.4%), Salamanca (9.5%) and Ávila (8%).
Below are Valladolid (7.4%); and Zamora (7.3%); Palencia (6.6%); León (6.4%) and Burgos (5.7%).
CATALONIA
In this community, in which the antibody rate has reached 5.9%, Barcelona is, by far, the one with the highest prevalence, 7.3%, quite far from Lleida (2.9%), Girona (2.7%) and Tarragona (1.3%).
VALENCIAN COMMUNITY 2.4%
Its three provinces are below 3%: Valencia (2%) Castellón (2.7) and Alicante (3%). For the entire region it is 2.4%.
ESTREMADURA
3.1% of its population has been infected; in the case of Cáceres, 3.9%, and in Badajoz, 2.7%.
GALICIA
It is another of the communities with the least population with antibodies with 1.9%. The highest prevalence is in Pontevedra (2.5%), followed by Orense (2.1%), A Coruña (1.6%) and Lugo (1.5%).
MADRID
It is the communities with the highest prevalence, 11.4%.
MURCIA
The citizens of this community are also among those with the least antibodies: only 1.6%.
NAVARRA
Closer to the national average with 6.6%
BASQUE COUNTRY
It presents a lot of variability between 6.4% in Álava, up to 3.6% in Vizcaya and 2.5% in Guipúzcoa. For the entire community, the rate is 3.6%.
THE RIOJA
Only 3.7% of its inhabitants have antibodies.
CEUTA AND MELILLA
There is a big difference from 0.7% in Ceuta to 3.4% in Melilla.
