The 39-year-old has been a FIFA referee for eleven years and has established himself at the top in recent years.
This year Turpin led, among other things, the Europa League final between Villarreal and Manchester United in Gdansk. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Turpin, who lives near the Swiss border, whistled Switzerland 2-2 against Costa Rica, three months later also a test match of the SFV selection against England (0-1).
The fourth official in Baku is the Serb Srdjan Jovanovic, the video referee is Turpin’s compatriot François Letexier.
