Bosnian tennis player Damir Jumhur intends to sue the French Open organizers for not allowing him to qualify after his coach tested positive for coronavirus. Coach Petar Popovič has already contracted the disease this year, and according to Jumhur, the test was false positive because he has antibodies in his body. The French Tennis Federation has not commented on the case.

Jumhura was upset that the organizers did not allow the coach to undergo repeated sampling, and he decided to take legal action. According to L’Equipe, the inspection that Popovič underwent privately brought a negative result.
“It’s a scandal and a huge frustration,” Popovic told L’Equipu. “I’m sure we will win in court. He will pay for this, and a lot. I’m completely mad about it,” he said.
“I think if Rafa was in our case, he would be entitled to a second or third test to verify. So we’re really disgusted with what’s happening to us.”

A total of six tennis players were disqualified in connection with positive coronavirus tests. The organizers did not publish their names, but only some of them had a positive test. Several of them did not get into the competition precisely because of close contact with a positive coach.
