Next Sunday (November 15th) the women of the sports club will meet the SGS Essen. The game starts at 4 p.m. in the Essen stadium (live on Magenta Sport).
After the Freiburg women showed great mentality on the previous match day and were able to continue the upward trend with a narrow but deserved 2-1 home win over SV Werder Bremen, the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga will now play against the former club of Freiburg on match day 9 Head coach Daniel Kraus.
Due to the last performance shown, in which the sports club finally rewarded itself with points, the team will travel to the SGS Essen at the weekend, highly motivated and with a broad chest, to get the next three. A difficult task awaits there, because the hosts have also been getting better and better lately and have also scored seven out of nine possible points in their past three matches. “From a sporting point of view, it is a duel on equal terms with similar requirements. Essen has a lot of football quality and a fast, direct switching game. Little things can decide this game, ”says Kraus.
The fact that SGS Essen is an uncomfortable opponent is also proven by the two sporting clashes of the 2019/20 season. Here the sports club drew the short straw in both games and remained without points. So it comes in handy that the SC currently has the third best defense in the league with just eight goals against. If the SC offensive against Essen also succeeds in increasing efficiency in front of the opposing housing, then it should definitely be possible to take something countable with you on the journey home to the Breisgau. Kraus sees this in a similar way: “We’re going to Essen and want to win!”
The sports club still has to do without Kim Fellhauer, Jobina Lahr, Victoria Ezebinyuo and Giovanna Hoffmann.
