Subtle manipulation. It takes place daily within human coexistence. The dance and music performance pendulum resonance rave by the Freiburg group moving orchestra addresses this issue. She physically examines what happens when people are influenced by strange rhythms and thus let themselves be brought out of their own rhythm.
A group of 4 dancers takes the audience on a journey of thought in their movements. Abstract and yet close to everyday life, she shows concrete connections to real life through dance. The dancers react to sounds in the room. You sense and feel their rhythm. The peculiar sounds come from an installation made up of 4 pendulums with microphones attached to the end.
The pendulum installation generates feedback through speakers on the floor. A musician changes the tones and composes them live anew, so that a given musical environment is created. The dancers respond to her. Under the predominance of sounds, they sound out whether and how their own rhythm can interact with the specifications and draw their movements precisely and powerfully in the room. Their bodies talk to each other – and they talk to the audience.
Do we get closer to our own rhythm when we work together? Who gets involved with whom? Do I follow voluntarily or do I allow myself to be influenced by the other? The different rhythms and speeds of the dancers create friction and dependencies. Differences become visible – or harmonies. Are there group dynamics? Or peer pressure? Opportunities open up – and abysses.
pendulum resonance rave is the 3rd work by moving orchestra within 3 years, in cooperation with the E-Werk Freiburg. The project was funded by the City of Freiburg, the City of Kassel and the Wolfgang Zippel Foundation and will be shown at both locations. The co-production partner E-Werk Freiburg is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Here is the idea again:
After an idea and on the initiative of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau, in cooperation with the FWTM (operator) and Kulturaggregat eV, a possibility was developed to offer us all the finest cultural enjoyment even in these times.

#inFreiburgzuhause is a new online platform through which high-quality events from the Freiburg venues and cultural centers can be experienced live. At home or on the go, on your PC, laptop, iPad or smartphone. With funds from Sparkasse, FWTM, SC Freiburg and other sponsors, an attempt is made to offer the venues and cultural centers a perspective again in times of reduced contacts and
to help over the time of the crisis. Of course, the #inFreiburgzuhause project also depends on the public. Anyone can support the venues and artists by (voluntarily) purchasing virtual tickets. You too can contribute personally to keeping the diverse cultural landscape alive here.
