Frank Müller takes over the management of the BR-Studio Mainfranken

At the end of September the voice of Mainfranken said “goodbye”: Eberhard Schellenberger was the director of the BR-Studios in Mainfranken for over 40 years. Now he has retired. At the beginning of November he will be succeeded by his current deputy Frank Müller. He has played a key role in the multimedia renovation of the studio in Würzburg in recent years.

Acting studio manager in Regensburg

He also brings management experience from his time as the acting head of the BR studio Niederbayern / Oberpfalz in Regensburg. There he represented the studio manager Gerhard Schiechel for about half a year. The background to this was the Mayor election in Regensburg in March 2020, in which Schiechel’s wife, Astrid Freudenstein, stood as a candidate for the Regensburg CSU.

Moderator on Bayern 1 and Bayern 2

In addition to his editorial duties, Frank Müller also moderates the Bayern 2-regionalZeit for Franconia and the Upper Palatinate as well as the Bayern 1-Regionalnachrichten for Mainfranken and is CvD in the current editorial team. As a media coach, he regularly oversees advanced training projects for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. He also works as a guest lecturer at the University of Würzburg.

Frank Müller: Upper Palatinate in Main Franconia

Born in Upper Franconia and raised in Upper Palatinate, Müller has lived in Main Franconia since he was a student (German / American Studies). He came to Bayerischer Rundfunk in 2002 after previous positions in private radio and various regional and national print media.

To the BR-Studio Mainfranken

The BR-Studio Mainfranken at Würzburg Bahnhofplatz was founded in 1977. The studio with the assigned, smaller BR studios Bayerischer Untermain (Aschaffenburg) and Main-Rhön (Schweinfurt) is part of the Franken studios in BR. In addition to the presentation of the regional areas on Bayern 1, Bayern 2, BR Heimat and BR24, the BR-Studio Mainfranken provides editorial content for all programs and waves of BR and ARD in all subject areas from sport and business to politics and culture.

As a modern, multimedia news center with around 40 reporters, the studio prepares information from and for Lower Franconia for all technical channels – whether for BR television, radio, BR24 or social media.
