The statement, which millions of students and their families and educators awaited, came from President Erdoğan. Erdogan announced that the schools closed on March 13 will not be re-opened to the academic year this year.
Stating that the new period will start in September, Erdogan did not mention a change about YKS and LGS exams to be held in June.
As explained on May 4, the central system exams will be held at the National Defense University (MSÜ) on June 14, the Transition to High Schools (LGS) on June 20, and the Higher Education Admission Exam (YKS) on June 27-28.
At the end of March, when the schools were first closed, YKS was postponed to 25-26 July, but the date was later withdrawn to June.
