Francesco Bagnaia give compliments to Marc Marquez who managed to finish fourth in MotoGP Qatar 2024.
According to Bagnaia, Marquez has achieved good results in his debut with Gresini Racing at the Losail Circuit, Sunday (10/3). Pecco, Bagnaia’s nickname, believes The Baby Alien will appear competitive this season.
“He has clearly done a good job and can finish fourth. That’s Marc Marquez, eight times world champion,” said Bagnaia as quoted by GPOne.
“So I expect him to be competitive. I don’t know if he will be a contender for the world title, but he will definitely be a rival. We’ll see,” he continued.
The score in the Qatar MotoGP is quite good because Marquez is relatively new to experiencing the sensation of riding the Ducati Desmodici GP23 in full race format.
The racer from Spain also got close to Jorge Martin, who finished third. It’s just that this situation didn’t last long because Marquez slowly fell behind Martinator’s speed.
Regarding the results, Marquez said he was not disappointed with the race with his new team. Moreover, he is still in the adjustment stage so that his racing style suits his new ride.
“Today I had to fight harder on the bike than yesterday. We made small changes that we thought could help us. This is also an experience that maybe it was not going in the right direction, we have to investigate it. Now with what we have we will see what direction should be taken?” he said.
