Four men rob Chanel stores

Witnesses and surveillance cameras filmed everything. A Chanel store in New York’s Soho neighborhood was robbed by four men. The gang stole goods worth 160,000 US dollars, the equivalent of around 134,000 euros. Nobody was injured in the designer heist. In the video we show recordings from the store that were taken during the robbery.

Four men rob a shop on Spring Street

The police have now released recordings of witnesses and surveillance cameras in order to find the four men with the help of the public. The group is said to have broken into the designer store on Spring Street at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, reports “abc7”. While the robbers were clearing the goods from the shelves, one of the perpetrators is said to have threatened a 61-year-old security officer. Apparently one of the men made it clear that he had a gun with him.

When the security officer pointed out that she was also carrying a gun, one of the robbers is said to have said: “What are you going to do, shoot me!”

Robbers took 32 Chanel bags

The robbers fled towards Wooster Street with 12 wallets and 32 handbags valued at $ 160,000. They got into a waiting vehicle – supposedly an Audi – with no license plates. Rodney Harrison, head of the NYPD, told abc that the people seen in the videos were responsible for several robberies and break-ins in designer stores in Manhattan. The group of three to nine suspects are said to have carried out at least 20 robberies since September 1 of last year.

Face masks make the manhunt difficult

“These criminals benefit from wearing face masks,” said the NYPD chief. “So it is extremely difficult to identify them.” According to the US media, the robbers are not easy to track because they often drive around with the license plates mixed up or not at all. Some shops have even been robbed several times, it is said. With the new video material they want to find new witnesses and finally catch the perpetrators.
