Four beaches in Caminha and Viana reached maximum capacity this Sunday morning

This Sunday morning was used by many vacationers to travel to the beaches of Minho, exhausting the capacity on eight beaches, four by sea and four by river.

On the sea beaches, it is Moledo, in Caminha, which has the largest number of bathers (4,500), being packed by 11:42 am, the last hour when the InfoPraia application officially counted the number of users.

Also the beach of Vila Praia de Âncora, in the same municipality, was packed at the end of the morning, with 2,700 bathers.

In the municipality of Viana do Castelo are the other two sea beaches that have reached maximum capacity. Cabedelo / Luzia Mar, with 800 bathers, and Paço / Carreço beach, with 900.

River beaches depleted

In terms of river beaches, the maximum capacity was reached in Braga, on the beach of Adaúfe, in Vila Verde, on the beach of Faial (Prado), in Fafe, in the Albufeira da Queimadela, and in Verim, in Póvoa de Lanhoso.

High occupancy

At risk of overcrowding were the beaches of Amorosa / Chafé (Viana), Pedra Alta (Viana), Afife (Viana), Arda / Bico (Viana), Suave Mar (Esposende), Ofir (Esposende), Apúlia (Esposende), Ramalha (Esposende), Gelfa (Caminha).

Low occupancy

With fewer users and therefore recommended for bathing, are the sea beaches of Cabedelo (Viana), Amorosa Chafé Sul (Viana), Praia Norte (Viana), Cepães (Esposende), Carreço (Viana), Suave Mar Centro (Esposende ), Suave Mar Norte (Esposende) and Foz do Minho (Caminha).

In the river beaches with low occupation are the beaches of Ponte da Barca, Valletta (Arcos de Valdevez), Merelim São Paio (Braga), Vilar de Mouros (Caminha) and Cavez (Cabeceiras de Basto)

Some of the rules, in addition to the maximum capacity, include the respiratory tag and the physical distance of 1.5 meters between different groups on the beach.

There is a maximum of 5 users per awning, thatch or tent. The minimum distance between these locations must be three meters.

Sports activities such as rackets, discs, football, will not be allowed this year for generating movement. Nautical activities, surf lessons and similar sports are allowed.

The bathing season in Minho opened on 27 June and ends on 30 September.
