‘Formulas for change’, a series by MinCiencias on the impact of scientific exercise on Colombian communities

It is time to learn through public television what science is for. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MinScience) brings to the screen Colombia signal the documentary series ‘Change formulas’, a production that tells stories of life that have been transformed by scientific knowledge.

In a tour of different regions of Colombia, ‘Formulas of change’ presents characters who have transformed their communities through scientific and investigative exercise, which led them to change their destiny and that of the other members of their community. This series is a brief x-ray of what is happening with the innovative minds that will change the future of the country with their contributions.

To show us the benefits of applying science in everyday life, the production makes use of interviews, staging and visual descriptions of the geographical context with which the cases of Colombian entrepreneurs are narrated with inspiring stories that have dedicated themselves to working to improve their surroundings and that of the entire community.

In other words, this documentary series is a commitment to make visible to those who dare to use their knowledge and put it into practice to be agents of change and thus contribute to inclusion, social development and peace from the scientific field.

‘Formulas of change’ is also one of the actions contemplated within the Dissemination of science, technology and innovation strategy, one of the efforts made by the Directorate of Mentality and Culture of Colciencias, with the purpose of generating and strengthening a culture that values ​​and manages the social appropriation of knowledge with experiences that contribute to improving the perception that Colombians have on scientific issues.
