Former racing driver Robert Doornbos looks back a little more often since he was robbed. He told that on Saturday, the day he also married Chantal Bles after ten years RTL Boulevard. Last month, Doornbos was attacked by two men with clubs and robbed of his Rolex watch.
“That’s terrible, you don’t wish that on anyone,” the former Formula 1 driver says to the program. “I got away with it, I didn’t get injured.” He also says: ,,I look a little more over my shoulder.”
The incident took place around midnight when Doornbos got out of his car. Shortly after getting out, a man came up to him with a bat, after which he received a blow to the head. A GPS tracker is said to have been installed under Doornbos’ car, so that he could be followed. According to the police, the perpetrators are between 25 and 30 years old.
To marry
Doornbos got married with his wife Chantal Bles on Saturday. Ten years ago, Bles was already asked to marry the former Formula 1 driver, but due to circumstances, a wedding was not yet possible.
The first part of the wedding took place in Amsterdam, the second part will be in Italy later. ,,It was more emotional than I expected”, said Bles after the big day RTL Boulevard. The two have been in a relationship for twelve years.
The wedding could not take place, among other things, because their daughter Jada got cancer. After her treatment, Doornbos again got down on one knee in front of his girlfriend in 2021. “We are very happy to see her like this today, she is also wearing a beautiful dress,” said Doornbos about his daughter.
