Virginia was then 17. The woman recalls three episodes in particular, which took place between 2001 and 2002, between London, New York and the island of Little St James, Virgin Islands.

Andrea has always said he is innocent. He claims he never had any sexual contact with Giuffre e he hardly remembers the photograph which instead depicts them together at a party in Maxwell’s London home. Virginia was 17 at the time. In Great Britain the age of consent is 16, but in New York Virginia is protected as a minor up to 18. He now has until August 14 to take legal action against the prince. His lawyers claim to have written to Andrea several times to reach an agreement privately. Not having the prince agreed to negotiate, Giuffre may be forced to involve the court.

According to David Boies, Giuffre’s attorney, «Time’s up», time is running out. To the Mail on Sunday the lawyer stressed that if the prince continues to not cooperate he could be found guilty “in absentia” and be joined by a ruling for damages of several million pounds. Buckingham Palace has in the past defended the prince by arguing with a statement that the allegations are “false and unfounded”. Andrea, however, was removed from the tight circle of the royal family so much so as not to appear in the official photographs of the marriage of his daughter Beatrice in July of last year.
