Former Kremlík is facing a disciplinary lawsuit for helping journalists

Former Minister of Transport Vladimir Kremlik faces according to Hospodářské noviny disciplinary action for allowing journalists to make a recording of a meeting with lawyer Martin Janoušek

The disciplinary lawsuit was filed by the Czech Bar Association at the beginning of last week on the basis of a complaint filed against Kremlík in February this year by his well-known and at the same time lawyer Martin Janoušek. At the beginning of the year, Kremlík, who now earns his living as a lawyer, accused Janoušek of trying to bribe him as Minister of Transport. But Janousek denies it. In addition to his complaint to the Czech Bar Association, he also filed a criminal complaint against Kremlík.

They were the first to report on the case. On January 14, former Minister of Transport Vladimír Kremlík told BIS chief Michal Koudelka that Janoušek had offered him a bribe of 1.5 million crowns before last Christmas, for influencing the contract for a toll supervisor. But he did not present any evidence.

According to Hospodářské noviny, the chamber stated that Kremlík had violated the law by allowing journalists to make a recording with Janoušek, illegally interfering with another person’s privacy and violating the code of ethics arising from the Advocacy Act.

“I received a notice of disciplinary action, that’s true. But I don’t want to say anything about it, “Janoušek responded for Hospodářské noviny.

Kremlík did not want to comment on the situation either. “It is not for me to publicly comment on any procedural acts of the bodies of the Czech Bar Association. I have full confidence in the impartiality and professionalism of the decision-making bodies of the chamber, “he wrote to the daily.

The activity of the toll supervisor for the state was provided by the multinational company CGI for 13 years, and last year it had a great chance to win a new contract from the Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD). For the next ten years. However, due to delays in the assessment of the procurement procedure at the Antimonopoly Office, Kremlík considered that it would prefer to entrust the contract to the state-owned company Cendis.

The uncertainty led to the fact that at the end of November, at 12 o’clock, the ŘSD extended the ending old contract with CGI for another three months. And in the form of an addendum as “extra work”. It is not certain whether this was in accordance with the law, the management of the Ministry of Transport allegedly had doubts.

However, according to three sources of the List of Reports, the ŘSD ordered two legal opinions, on which it relied when extending this contract. The first was to be from the Jansta Law Office, Kostka, the second from Janoušek’s Rowan Legal.
