Learn about the prices of iron, cement and sand in the local market today, Friday 8/14/2020

Building materials prices stabilized today, Friday 8-14-2020, in the local market, according to what was confirmed by the Building Materials Division of the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, where iron prices recorded 9100 – 9500 pounds per ton on the delivery of the factory land, and the price to the consumer reached 9400-950 pounds.

Cement prices ranged between 580-620 pounds per ton for factory delivery, and its price to the consumer ranged between 630-670 pounds per ton, and gypsum prices ranged between 550-650 pounds per ton, the price of sand stabilized between 60-100 pounds, and bricks between 750-950 pounds per thousand bricks.

It is noteworthy that Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, held an expanded meeting with members of the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metal Industries, headed by Dr. Walid Gamal El-Din – via video conference technology – where ways to develop and develop all the industries belonging to the sector were reviewed, and the possibilities of increasing Egyptian exports to the sector’s products To various global markets, and the challenges facing the development of the sector’s products and ways to solve them in cooperation with the various concerned government agencies.

The minister said that the building materials, refractories and metallurgical industries sector represents one of the main sectors in the national industry, as it contributes about 25% of Egyptian exports to global markets, at a value of $ 5 billion annually, in addition to covering most of the local market’s needs for products used in the construction sector, pointing to the ministry’s keenness to increase Egyptian exports of the sector’s products to global markets during the next phase, through stabilizing the national industry system, overcoming all current and future export obstacles, and increasing the competitive advantage of the Egyptian product.
