Former Hammarby hill ready for German big club

Ivorian midfielder Odilon Kossounou was recruited to Hammarby for the 2019 season and showed his front feet before he was sold on to Belgian Club Brugge for SEK 40 million the same summer. Now the 20-year-old is taking the next step in his career.

It is the German big club Bayer Leverkusen, league six last year, which confirms that they are recruiting Odilon on Thursday night. Mittbacken has signed a contract until June 2026.

– I am happy that the transition to Bayer 04 has been successful. The German Bundesliga is something completely different (than the Belgian league), says Odilon on Leverkusen’s website.

The 20-year-old, who already has six A-national matches for Ivory Coast, did not have time to make more than nine matches for Hammarby before moving to Club Brugge.

According to information to Expressen, Hammarby will receive SEK 15-20 million for the transition thanks to a resale clause. The newspaper states that the total transfer fee lands at up to SEK 300 million.
