A flu vaccination campaign has started in the Kemerovo region. This year it is planned to vaccinate 1 million 6 thousand residents. In each territory, at least 60% of the total population must be vaccinated. This was reported by specialists from the Rospotrebnadzor Department of Kuzbass.

In addition, the agency’s website noted that the following categories must be vaccinated against influenza:

  • children from 6 months to 6 years old;
  • students;
  • students of secondary vocational educational institutions;
  • university students;
  • medical workers;
  • employees of educational institutions;
  • persons over 60 years old;
  • public transport workers;
  • communal workers;
  • persons suffering from chronic diseases, including cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary systems, metabolic disorders and obesity;
  • pregnant women;
  • persons subject to conscription.

All of the listed vaccinations will be delivered free of charge in medical organizations at the place of residence or work. Children will be vaccinated in kindergartens, educational institutions, as well as in the clinic for attachment.

“Vaccine prophylaxis is the most effective means of individual and mass prevention of influenza. The effectiveness of influenza vaccines has been clinically proven. Influenza viruses are constantly changing, usually in every next flu season, new types of virus appear, so it is necessary to vaccinate every year, ”the official says. website departments.

It also notes that influenza vaccines do not cause influenza. Moreover, they are safe and well tolerated by humans.

The Rospotrebnadzor Administration for the Kemerovo Region, within the framework of the All-Russian hotline, from September 7 to October 12, consults the population on the prevention of influenza and ARVI.
