A nutritionist provided a set of nutritional advice to pregnant women, stressing the need to adhere to them during pregnancy.

Nutritionist Nourhan Nasir said: During pregnancy, a woman’s nutritional needs increase. according to “An-Nahar.”

She added that it is important to follow a healthy system that meets these needs to ensure Good health for the mother والجنين.

The most important types of nutrients that Nourhan Nasser advised a pregnant woman to add in her diet are as follows:

Protein: You should eat 70 grams of protein during pregnancy daily, and it is recommended that it be from lean meat, legumes, and others.

Carbohydrates: It is recommended to eat 175 grams of carbohydrates, daily, preferably from complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains and oats, rather than sugars.

Iron: It is recommended to eat between 27 and 30 mg daily. Iron-rich foods are red meat and internal viscera such as liver, chicken, and legumes, green leafy vegetables such as spinach and molokhia, and dried fruits such as raisins, molasses and mushrooms.

Calcium: The recommended intake ranges from 1,000 to 1,200 mg per day. Milk and dairy products, green leafy vegetables and sardines are major sources of calcium.
