Actress Aija Dzērve spent 21 years at the Daile Theater and this spring found out that she no longer has a full-time position at the theater. Aija was silent for a long time, but now she has finally decided to comment on what happened, Evija Kalnbērza and Gita Vīksne reported in the material “It’s Hard to Understand Who Are Their Own” anymore in the “Private Life” edition.
Aija admits that her dismissal surprised her unprepared, and the message was delivered over the phone, according to Dzērve, incorrectly and unexpectedly.
Although Aija is grateful for her performances, for her friendship with colleagues, for the knowledge and skills she gained at the Daile Theater, she does not hide that there is bitterness when she leaves.
“I always tried to respect mutual respect, the ideals taught by teachers, Daile’s traditions and succession. It is now clear that this decision of the new leader and his advisers has nothing to do with the above and the professionalism, ability and contribution of each actor to art,” says Aija.
Crane expresses incomprehension that, on the one hand, there have been redundancies and long-term actors have been fired from the Daile Theater, but at the same time new faces are already visible in the theater.
So far, Dzērve has not entered into a new employment relationship, although there are several offers.
