For sale is a Škoda Felicia Pickup with six cylinders. Under the hood hides the VR6 engine

Utility versions were also derived from the modern Škoda Felicia. And one interesting pick-up truck is currently for sale…

The offered Škoda Felicia Pickup impresses at first glance with its flashy green metallic, relatively large wheels and four exhaust tips. Also worth noting is the front grille matching the standard Felicia after the facelift that the automaker introduced in February 1998.

According to the manufacturer, the pick-up comes from 1997 and left the factory line with a naturally aspirated diesel engine with a volume of 1.9 liters and an output of 47 kW. The body originally had a laminate superstructure.

However, the most notable change from the stock version is under the hood. The diesel went out and a petrol six-cylinder moved in. And not just any. The tuner chose the VR6 unit of an interesting and unusual design, which Volkswagen introduced in 1991. Because the manufacturer wanted to offer this engine also in compact models, it chose an unusual and “space-saving” arrangement with a very narrow opening of the cylinder banks of 15 degrees. The cylinders were thus arranged in a “zig-zag” pattern in the block.

The VR6 engine first got under the hoods of the Passat and Corrado models, soon followed by the Golf and Vento models. Gradually, the interesting six-cylinder saw different versions and powered not only VW cars, but also Audi, Seat, Porsche and even the Škoda Superb or the first generation of the Ford Galaxy. Currently, the VR6 engine can be found in the Volkswagens Atlas/Teramont and Talagon, it is also used by the Audi Q6.

Unfortunately, the Škoda pick-up seller does not indicate which car the unit used in this conversion comes from, so we cannot offer its parameters either. In the ad, we at least read about the alleged renovation of the entire car, better brakes and a rejuvenated interior with leather upholstery. The available photos indicating the condition of the car suggest that the modification took place some time ago.

Felicia Pickup with VR6 engine is on sale for 8,999 British pounds, which in conversion is about 240 thousand crowns. The car is therefore available in Great Britain and thus has right-hand drive.
