Germans ask AvtoVAZ to return to Germany

AvadaVAZ European distributor Lada Deutschland GmbH has published a petition, in which he asks the Togliatti brand to return to the German market.

Deliveries of Russian Lada cars to the EU market were discontinued at the end of last year, and by the beginning of this summer dealers had sold their last stock. Dieter Trzaska, head of the German company Lada Deutschland GmbH, which is a distributor of Lada in Europe, published the official petition to AvtoVAZ, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Russian Embassy in Germany.

In it, he asks to return the entire Lada lineup to the market of Germany and the entire European Union, justifying such a need for the availability of Russian cars, the presence of loyal customers and a wide dealer network, and many Lada dealerships were opened only recently, in the last few years. The reason AvtoVAZ left Europe was the introduction of stricter environmental standards Euro 6+, which VAZ engines do not meet.

Upgrading powertrains would be too expensive. However, the current strategy of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is also significant, according to which in Europe the role of the budget brand is assigned to Dacia, and Lada will focus on the markets of the CIS, Latin America, Mongolia and the Middle East. To date, almost 1,300 of the 2,000 required have signed the petition, however, in any case, this is unlikely to affect the decision of the alliance.

In Germany, two and a half hundred dealers are selling Lada cars, and the model line consists of Granta, Vesta and 4×4. In Europe, Lada was one of the most affordable brands along with Chinese cars: for example, 4×4 was sold at a price of 12-15 thousand euros. “Niva” was traditionally liked by foresters and hunters, other models were often bought by immigrants from the former USSR countries.
