Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – Rudi Völler bought 100 so-called “ghost tickets” from his ex-club Kickers Offenbach. The 59-year-old soccer world champion from 1990 and current Bayer Leverkusen official supports the regional league’s “Völle Hütte” campaign. So far, the Kickers have sold 3977 cards in different price categories, according to information from Monday.
This is intended to at least partially compensate for the loss of revenue caused by the Corona crisis after the game has stopped. Völler, born in Hanau, played for the Kickers from 1975 to 1980, before moving to TSV 1860 Munich and starting his national team career in 1982 with 90 caps.
