Florida: A devoured kangaroo creates chaos – Jack the Runner

Jack, a tame Florida kangaroo, had caused chaos on a foray through Fort Lauderdale last week before it could be caught by visibly amused cops.

Now the owner is in trouble because he did not have a license to hold the kangaroo. The owner must also answer because the kangaroo has escaped and because he can not provide proof of its origin. Criminal charges have been filed, according to a report by the local newspaper “Sun Sentinel”, quoted by the AFP news agency. If convicted, he faces up to 60 days in prison and a $ 500 fine.

A concerned caller had reportedly alerted the police to the unusual road user, the report said.

The kangaroo almost caused some rear-end collisions during its outing. “I know you probably think I’m crazy. But everyone brakes, looks and almost hits the animal, and I don’t want it to be run over,” the caller said, according to the report.

Video footage shows how the police finally get hold of Jack.

Jack has now been handed over to a wildlife conservation organization, the police wrote on Twitter. It is in the hands of veterinarians and wildlife experts.

The two-year-old animal actually lives with him with a corgi named Max, Macias told the Sun Sentinel newspaper. “They love each other, play with each other and run around together.”
