Pathanamthitta : Police arrested five young Nepalese men from their residence in Lower Vettiprat with around 2.5 kg of ganja.
The defendants were arrested in a joint operation by the Dansaf District Squad and Pathanamthitta Police.
Bipin Kumar (20), Suman Chaudhary (22), Suresh Chaudhary (27) from Nepal’s Bardia district, Om Kumar (21) and Deepak Malli (31) from Nepal’s Japa district were arrested.
The Dansaf team monitored the area for several days after receiving reports that ganja was being traded in chicken shops and hotels in the city. The defendants admitted to smuggling ganja from Nepal. It was also revealed that it was kept for retail trade.
