The police arrested four men and a woman on Thursday morning after they ran into police officers during a check in Rotterdam South. An officer was injured.
Two officers wanted to check a vehicle in a parking lot at the Jan van Weeldestraat. A second vehicle was parked in the parking lot.
When the officers spoke to the occupants, the driver of the vehicle drove into them. One of the officers got stuck with his leg between the two cars.
Colleagues nearby were immediately on site to help. They managed to arrest the five suspects. This concerns two men aged 28 and 30 from The Hague, a 25-year-old man from Terneuzen, a 26-year-old man without a permanent residence or residence, and a 23-year-old woman from Uden.
The cars were seized by the Forensic Investigation. In total, tens of thousands of euros in cash and about 1 kilo of cocaine were found.
The injured officer was taken to hospital for a check-up. He is now back home.
