Five Foods That Can Help Maintain Blood Sugar and Stabilize Mood

Jakarta: Blood sugar high can be very dangerous. One of the effects of high blood sugar is the occurrence of mood swings. For that, choosing foods that can maintain blood sugar levels is highly recommended.

1. Hummus

Eating foods packed with high-quality complex carbohydrates, such as hummus, is a good way to keep your blood sugar levels in check, says nutrition and fitness expert Erin Palinski-Wade, RD, CDE.

“Be sure to choose slow -digesting food options, such as vegetables and hummus (a Middle Eastern specialty) to prevent extra blood sugar spikes,” he said.

2. Onion

Onions such as onions and garlic can be an effective way to stabilize blood sugar, which of course can also have an effect on mood or mood. A study published in the scientific journal Food and Chemical Toxicology tested the effects of onions on mice and the results showed that onions could return the blood sugar levels of mice to normal.

5. Apple cider vinegar

While apple cider vinegar may not technically be as convenient to eat on its own, adding apple cider vinegar to food can be a great way to reduce the effect the food you eat has on your blood sugar.

A study published in the American Diabetes Association publication Diabetes Care showed that drinking about 20 grams of apple cider vinegar mixture 2 minutes before eating a heavy carbohydrate meal can be very effective in stabilizing blood sugar levels.
