Mother and daughter are still in the hospital. They can both go home on Friday. Then applies: caution trumps. “For example, the mother should always wear a face mask when nursing the baby,” says Geach.

Geach himself has had to seek protective means. “They are nowhere to be found. All professionals have difficulty with that. GPs and hospitals even say: collect it. Come bring it. Nobody could have foreseen this situation beforehand. ”

Proud mother

Fortunately, she managed to gather “quite a bit”. Geach has close contact with the GGD and RIVM. She understands that it will not be your average care. “But every mother in the Netherlands is entitled to maternity care. This happens when you work in healthcare. Then you help people. We can help, support and spoil her (the mother, ed.) At home. ”

Not only daughter, mother is also doing well. “Certainly. She is happy that the delivery is over. Her complaints can also be cured at home. Of course she regrets that she should not receive a visit. That has some impact. You normally hope to invite people and give them coffee and rusks with mice. That is not possible now, ”said Geach. “But she is fine and she is a proud mother.”
