Martin van der Sluis of the company PlasmaMade from Staphorst uses his factory capacity in China to make mouth masks. It concerns fifty thousand copies per week and probably much more. He hopes to receive the first shipment on Tuesday or Wednesday. The government is positive and guarantees that the caps can also cross the border, it became clear tonight.

The entrepreneur has grown up with unique patented air purification filters that he produces and sells worldwide. They work with plasma, which explains the name of his company. He also has production capacity in China. He supplies them to produce mouth masks that are suitable for healthcare.
‘Turned down’
Today Van der Sluis called the organization within the government about the collection of mouth masks. Strangely enough, he initially received little hearing. “I was more or less brushed off. That surprised me very much. The lady I talked to said the first priority is to inventory numbers, but I’ll have them on the shelf later.”
Tonight Van der Sluis still got contact with the government and the guarantee that the government guarantees the clearance of the mouth masks with customs. With this, Van der Sluis can get to work. He hopes to be able to make more than fifty thousand copies. “I am very happy with this. This costs me tons. I want the caps to end up well and not to have them stay at the border.”
Orders are pouring in
He already shared his idea via social media. Since then, orders have been pouring in from all over the country, especially from the healthcare sector. It concerns orders for tens of thousands of copies. “I do it on a non-profit basis, so I don’t make a profit. I don’t want that. Not over the back of concerned people. The care is for other customers,” says the entrepreneur. “The price is low, but it goes per day, because the transport costs change almost per hour.”
He has his people make sign-up lists. First come is at the top of the list and care comes first. “The phone has been ringing nonstop for hours.” Van der Sluis calls on people not to call, but to email via [email protected]. Customer names will then be listed.
