Large resources from the entire district are working to put out a fire in several residential buildings in Åndalsnes in Rauma municipality.
– This is a residential complex consisting of three units, with several apartments in those units. We are trying to limit the fire, says Tor Ivar Sjåstad, duty officer at the 110 exchange, to Dagbladet.
Åndalsnes Avis writes that a total of 29 refugees are affected by the fire, 14 adults and 15 children.

The building that is burning in Åndalsnes has been set on fire and the fire service is working to limit the spread to other buildings, reports the 110 switchboard on Twitter.
– There is strong flame development and smoke. The three houses are very close, but the wind seems to be blowing down towards the sea, says a witness to Dagbladet.

Do not control
– The fire is not under control at the moment, says duty officer at the 110 exchange, Tor Ivar Sjåstad, to NTB at 10.40.
– Extinguishing work is in progress, and the fire service in Åndalsnes receives assistance from surrounding neighboring municipalities, he adds.
The fire brigade was notified of the fire at 09.28 and arrived quickly at the scene.
The fire has received a so-called “triple warning”, and there are several ambulance helicopters on their way to the area.
Slightly damaged
– Help has been called in from neighboring fire stations and smoke diving efforts have been going on for a long time, Sjåstad says just before 10.30.
Rauma rapporteur Yvonne Wold confirms to Rbnett that the homes that are burning are refugee homes.
– 34 people have been evacuated from the site. Some of these should be slightly burnt / affected by smoke, but none life-threatening. We now have control over all residents in the buildings, the police write on Twitter.
Jumped from the second floor
Residents have told of some dramatic minutes when they had to escape from the burning buildings.
– From the second floor, my wife had to jump down, together with our two-year-old son, says a male resident to Rbnett.
The fire has led to delays in train traffic on the line between Dombås and Åndalsnes, writes Bane Nor on its websites.

At a press conference at 11.15, the mayor of Vestnes and Rauma, Roar Hilde, said that they will now work to investigate the cause of the fire.
– We have no thoughts about the cause of the fire yet, the sheriff said here.
He also said that patrols from both Molde and Ålesund have contributed to the extinguishing work.
– It looked very dramatic, said the sheriff.
Mayor Wold stated that the municipality has set crisis staff.
