Fire at Bøler in Oslo under control

BØLER (VG) There was a fire in two apartments in a terraced house on Bøler in Oslo on Thursday afternoon. All residents must now be accounted for.

Firefighters have the fire under control, but it is still burning, says the incident leader at the scene shortly before 6.30pm. Two people were injured and are being treated by medical personnel.

The evacuation has been initiated and for a long time there has been a great risk of spreading due to the powerful fire. One person was taken to hospital with an unknown degree of injury, police said. The state of the other wounded man is not known.

All four apartments in the terraced house are completely damaged.

– We searched both apartments at each end and found nothing and are now working to prevent the spread. We have contained the fire well, but there is still a risk of it spreading, NTB fire brigade chief Eirik Fredriksen said on Thursday at 17:30.

Operations director Gjermund Stokkli informed VG at 16:55 that there are nine registered residents at the address where the fire is located, also two nearby addresses have been evacuated. A total of 12 housing units with 33 registered residents were evacuated.

Emergency services were informed of the crash by witnesses at 4.17pm Thursday afternoon. Firefighters reported the fire at 4:21pm.
