A total of seven film crews claimed to have protested and chose to resign before the actor incident Hollywood Alec Baldwin accidentally fired a bullet. Their attitude is a form of protest about the conditions and safety in film production.
There are former crew members who expressed dissatisfaction with the safety procedures carried out during the film’s production. However, he requested anonymity for fear of disturbing his future career prospects, quoted from the Associated Press.
The crew member who spoke to the AP said he had never witnessed a formal orientation regarding the use of weapons while filming. In fact, this orientation is usually done some time before filming begins.
He also said that only a few Covid-19 precautions were taken during the filming process. Whereas actors and crew often work in small enclosed spaces on the farm.
Not only that, the crew’s resting place during filming also drew protests. Initially, the crew was stationed at the Courtyard by Marriot in Santa Fe. However, they were transferred to the Coyote South budget hotel. Some crew members didn’t want to stay there.
“We packed our gear and left that morning,” said a crew member regarding Thursday’s strike.
The shooting incident itself began when Alec Baldwin and the production crew did the shooting process for the film “Rust” which took place at Bonanza Creek Ranch, Santa Fe, Thursday (21/10) United States time.
The shooting involved a gun as a scene prop. However, the property weapon used by Baldwin in the shoot injured two crew members on the set.
As a result of this incident, a cinematographer from Ukraine, Halyna Hutchins died. This incident also injured director Joel Souza, who was hospitalized.
According to local police, Hutchins and Souza were shot when the property’s firearm was attempted by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor.
After the incident, Alec Baldwin expressed his regret through an upload on his personal Twitter page.
“There are no words to express my shock and sadness at the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and our co-worker whom we greatly admire. I am fully cooperating with the police investigation to discuss how this tragedy occurred,” he said. in the tweet of the official Twitter account @alecbaldwin, Friday (22/10).
“My heart breaks for my husband, their son and everyone who knows and loves Halyna,” she said.
