Ghazl El Mahalla players celebrate Mahmoud Fathallah’s goal in the Mahalla municipality
Ghazl El Mahalla club announced the departure of 13 players from its ranks in an official statement, between thanking them or the termination of their secondments or contracts.
In its statement, the club indicated that thanks were given to some of the players, namely, Abu Al-Nasr Hilmi, Salah Khattab, Islam Al-Far, Muhammad Mamdouh and Mustafa Abdul Sattar.
The loan of five players ended, they are Mahmoud Salah, Bilal Zakaria, Sayed Shaban, Ibrahim Abu Al-Rish and Ahmed Shawki. The contracts of three players, Hassan Abdo, Bassam Maher and Mohamed Sami have expired.
And the club’s statement continued: “We thank you all for your efforts with us throughout the season. Some of you who stayed with us for more than one season, thank you for your contribution with us in returning to the Premier League and we wish you success in the next stage.”
The league champion for the 1972-73 season qualified after a fierce struggle with Farco in the second division in the Bahri group.
Mahalla is one of the best-selling clubs in the Egyptian League, spending 46 seasons among adults, falling 3 times, winning the title before, and reaching the 1974 CAF Champions League final.
