After completing his mission and returning Stuttgart to the German Bundesliga, Mario Gomez announced his final retirement from football.
Mario Gomez, 34, officially retired from football on Sunday, after leading Stuttgart to the German Bundesliga again.
Mario Gomez joined Stuttgart mid-season from Wolfsburg, succeeding during the season and a half of the season again in returning the team to the Premier League, the team that accompanied him the German league title 200/2007 season.
Gomez has played this season in 24 league and cup matches. He scored 7 goals in them, the last of whom was today in front of Darmstadt, while he made one goal.
Stuttgart finished second in the Bundesliga ranking, to qualify directly to the Premier League, accompanied by Armenia Belfield, while third-placed Heidenheim will play an attachment against Werder Bremen.
Mario Gomez started his career with the Stuttgart youth, playing with the first team 6 years between 2003 to 2009, before moving to Bayern Munich, and from them to Fiorentina in 2013.
Gomez continued with Fiorentina from 2013 to 2016, during which he was loaned to the Turkish Besiktas for a season.
In 2016, Gomez returned to the German league with Wolfsburg, to play a season and a half with them before moving to Stuttgart in the second degree, and spend with them a season and a half as well, which brought them back to the Premier League.
Mario Gomez also has 78 caps for Germany. He scored 31 goals.
In total, Mario Gomez won the German League title with Stuttgart 2006/2007 season, then he won the title twice with Bayern Munich, next to the German Cup twice, the German Super Cup twice, and the Champions League with Bayern Munich.
The veteran striker also won the Turkish League with Besiktas 2015/2016 season, while he settled for third place with Germany in the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 qualifier.
