Fighting Ukraine has found a foothold in fuel! Nahoka Europe, but things depend on Burgas

The problem of fuel supplies to Ukraine from the European Union (EU) is related to congestion in the ports of Eastern Europe, and to solve this, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is working to open a “green corridor”.

This was discussed at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with the participation of President’s Chief of Staff Andriy Ermak and his deputies, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal and members of the government, UNIAN reported.

First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko noted that over the past five days, Ukraine has imported a volume of fuel equal to or greater than domestic consumption.

However, she noted that Europe was not ready for logistics.

According to her, an “important place” in the logistics of fuel supplies to Ukraine are the ports of Eastern Europe: Gdansk, Gdynia, Constanta, Swinoujscie and the Bulgarian sea city of Burgas.

That is why now, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the work on providing Ukraine with a “green corridor” in these ports continues, UNIAN clarifies.

During the important meeting in Kyiv, the need to conclude long-term contracts and accumulate state fuel reserves was also noted.

Zelensky also noted the need to eliminate queues at Ukrainian gas stations.

BLIC recalls that in Ukraine in the last week of April there was a shortage of fuel at gas stations. To solve the problem with its deficit, on April 29 the government raised the marginal prices of gasoline and diesel fuel by 40-43%.

Vladimir Omelchenko, who is director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, believes there will be a shortage of oil products as the war continues, and there must be strict price regulation.
