Charleroi Airport announces this Sunday morning that it is activating “phase three of the epidemio-health plan“after learning that the first Luxembourg patient infected with the coronavirus has passed through the Walloon airport. In consultation with the Walloon Minister for Airports Jean-Luc Crucke, phase three of the epidemiosanitary plan has been activated.

Concretely, the airport convenes a permanent epidemiosanitary vigilance committee and opens a crisis center. It will also retrace the passenger’s path “in order to define any contaminated areas to treat them“as well as identify the people who have been in contact with this patient, including the site workers. He will finally inform his staff and travelers of the situation.

Charleroi airport says it is awaiting instructions “from the competent authorities regarding the possible deployment of other measures at national level“. He also requests logistical support to implement the measures of the FPS Health.
